I started my weight loss journey Jan 1/12. I started with U Weight Loss and lost 30 lbs before I was introduced to Boot Camp with Bridge City Fitness. The first week I attended 2 classes, it was definitely challenging and I could hardly walk for the whole weekend but I knew I had to go back! I LOVE how boot camp is always something different, keeps me interested in working out regularly and it is a very friendly environment. I am now down 65 lbs & counting! Carla I can’t thank you enough for keeping me going! Your positive attitude and encouragement make me strive to push harder and do better. I am doing things I never thought I would ever be able to do!!! THANK YOU!!!!
I met Carla in November 2011 and that was the best thing that happened to me. When I met Carla a was on my weight loss journey but at a standstill and knowing I had a lot more to loss before I met my goal. I loved the way Carla made workout hard was fun she had way of making me feel like there wasn’t anything I couldn’t do. The weeks went by and every time we met she gave me more confidence she never stopped believing in me. In the past 9 months I have run my first 5k and 10k runs and that is because she believed in me thanks to Carla for saying to me you can do it. Thanks to Carla I now have lost a total of a 135lbs and only 10lbs to my goal. I have never looked and felt as healthy as a do now in my whole life. A thank you doesn’t seem like enough that you have changed my whole life and you showed me to believe in myself and that the sky is the limit. As while without Nathan’s help with meal planning I wouldn’t have done it a great big thanks goes to you.
A year ago, I thought I was happy. I felt confident; I had clothes that fit, what else could you ask for? In truth, I wasn’t happy. I was in denial. I had no idea the impact my size was making on my life.
I began attending Bridge City Bootcamp in September, 2011. I had been inactive for a while, and that first day was hard! It was Carla and Nathan’s enthusiasm for fitness that kept me coming back. I slowly became more fit, and was able to keep up in class! But I wasn’t dropping the weight. Carla and Nathan encouraged me to begin eating according to Nathan’s brilliant diet plan. As soon as I gave up the carbs and embraced the protein, everything changed! The weight dropped off, and I had reached my goal weight within six months! The diet plan was easy to follow, and Nathan was only an email away whenever I had questions or concerns. His support with the diet kept my eating on track, and kept me motivated! “What’s the scale say now, Clarissa?” Every time, it amazed me how much weight I was losing, and how simple it really was! Nathan lays it out simply and isn’t afraid to be honest. Without his guidance on my diet, I could never have gotten where I am today.
Once the pounds started dropping and my waistline started shrinking, I had more energy and stamina than ever before! Bootcamp became fun, and I looked forward to working up a sweat! I also started attending Carla’s Co-Ed Kickboxing Class, which I fell in love with. Carla made working out challenging, AND fun! With Carla’s guidance I was able to start running on my own, which I had never done before! Being able to go for a run by myself without a trainer by my side gave my so much confidence. Without Carla’s guidance I would not be where I am today physically.
A year ago, I thought I was happy. I know now, after my weight loss and fitness journey, that I wasn’t happy. In retrospect, I should have listened to the people in my life who loved me, and saw that I was unhappy. Unfortunately, some lessons must be learned the hard way. Losing thirty-five pounds was hard work; probably one of the hardest things I have ever done. There is no quick fix to weight loss. It’s about the food that you’re eating and the physical activity you’re doing. I’m so glad that I found Carla and Nathan when I did. I was on my way to being unhappy for life, and being totally ignorant to my unhappiness. I can credit my enlightened happiness to Carla and Nathan. Without their guidance and endless support, I can’t imagine where my weight would be today. Thank you Carla and Nathan, for my confidence and my happiness! You are the greatest! <3
Before I started at Bridge City Fitness, I was already a very active person who enjoyed exercise but I immediately was drawn in by the atmosphere of BCF. Carla and Nathan are fantastic trainers and have helped me reach goals that I never thought possible. I recently hit my goal weight – I had been struggling to drop the ‘last 10 pounds’ for a long time but after I started working with Nathan on a meal plan the last pounds dropped off and I am now maintaining with ease. Over the last few months I have been dealing with an injury, and boot camp allows me to be flexible in how I train so that I can heal it while still remaining active, which is awesome.
Cannot say enough good things about the entire experience, you just need to come try it out! I look forward to heading to BCF every day because I know I will always be met with smiles, friendly conversation and a wonderfully entertaining workout.
I feel like a totally new person. I feel strong, lean, energetic, adventurous, and athletic. These are defiantly not word I would have used a year ago to describe myself. Since I started training with Carla, about 8 months ago I have lost over 80 pounds, and gone from size 22 to a size 8, I couldn’t have done this journey without her!
I get asked all the time “how did you lose the weight, what’s the secret?”. The “secret” is that you have to eat well and get physically active. Easy, right? Ok, maybe not, actually even though that is true, my answer to that question is that you have to decide to finally prioritize yourself and make smart investments for your heath.
Like many others, I have spent a lot of money throughout the years trying diet after diet, and joining gyms – but I was never able to get off much weight off, never mind keeping it off. Having a personal trainer me keep accountable and motivated – this was the smartest investment I have ever made. Before having a personal trainer, on the days when I was tired and unmotivated is what derailed me and made me fail. Being accountable to just myself was never enough to keep me on my weight loss journey. Now on the days I am tired and unmotivated, I still go and see my trainer because I already made an appointment with Carla, and after I go I feel renewed and re-motivated. This stopped the cycle of failure in its tracks. However, this only works if you decide to prioritize yourself and to respect the time of your trainer. I made a rule that if I had an appointment to train with Carla that I never cancelled, no matter what! If you don’t prioritize yourself then you can’t be successful and nobody in the world can help you. So prioritize you health!!
I like to thank Carla and Bridge City Fitness to getting me to the place where I am today. What has really changed during the last 8 month is that I believed who I really am – a strong athlete. It is this belief, of who I really am, and the continued support of my trainer – that I know I will continue to be successful with all my fitness goals.

I found Carla off of Kijiji back in October 2010. I had come to a standstill in my weight loss journey and Carla was the perfect ingredient to my recipe. Every work-out with her goes by quickly and is composed of something different each time and is exciting. She mixes it up with intense interval training, killer kickboxing, sweat drenching weight workouts and the awesome TRX training. Since working out with Carla my fitness level has risen to levels that i didn’t know i could achieve.

Bridge City Bootcamp has changed my life! That’s a bold statement to make but absolutely true. I am a single mom with three jobs. I used to feel tired all of the time and had health complications that prevented me from being as active as I wanted to be. Since committing to bootcamp 5 days a week I am happy to report I have lost 10lbs and my health has improved dramatically. The classes always give me energy to continue the rest of my crazy day! Carla and Nathan are both positive people, who are always encouraging us to be the best we can be. Since I started training with Carla Little in January I have lost 45 pounds. I had been working out on a consistent basis for almost a year when I met Carla. I had lost about 95 pounds at that point and seemed to have hit a wall. I tried many things to jumpstart my weight loss again but nothing seemed to really be working.
Carla has without a doubt helped me shatter right through that wall. Not only does Carla provide you with intense and challenging workout routines, she provides a fun and comfortable environment as well as the motivation to push yourself above and beyond your limits.

I have to say that one of the best things about working out with Carla is that she really keeps me on track. The workouts are constantly changing – so it’s never boring, and it always feels like we are trying something new. I have been training with Carla since the fall of 2009 and it has definitely helped change my overall fitness level. She really pushes me, in a good way, to finish the last set and make sure that I’m getting a good workout. During the winter time, I got lazy and stop going to the gym for a few months. It was really hard to get myself off the couch and start working out again. My co-worker told me to get a personal trainer and to give Carla a call. After the first session with Carla, I knew this was the push that I needed. She changes the routine from time to time and this keeps it fun and interesting. The best part of going to Carla is doing kickboxing with her. It is not only a great body workout but it also works on your hand-eye coordination. I can feel myself being stronger and healthier. Thanks Carla!

Carla is absolutely wonderful! I love having her for my personal trainer. Her enthusiasm makes it easier to get to the gym. I look forward to working out with Carla. I like the fact the Carla will add new exercises into the routine to keep it interesting and I don’t have to think about what I am going to next. I also liked the fact that there are times when I am way too sore to work out and she’ll spend extra time on stretches to help loosen up my joints! I have been with Carla for approx 6 months and have lost 7 inches overall.

Last year I had moved to Saskatoon where I started a new job and didn’t know many people. I spent most of my time after work in front of the tv and of course snacking. I began putting on weight and was upset so I wanted to change something in my life, no more couch potato! I found Carla Little on Kijiji and phoned her the next day. She set up a consultation quickly and I was eager to come to the gym again soon. I really like having a personal trainer as she motivates you when you don’t motivate yourself. I enjoyed the workouts as they were shaped around me and my abilities. I have been going to Carla since January (6 months) and I still enjoy it. I have been working out with Carla since November and it has changed my life. I make exercise part of my routine now and make sure I get to a gym every second day when I can’t see her. I am very happy and have a lot of energy and since I have been working out, I have been losing weight on a consistent basis for the first time in my life it just keeps melting off! Losing weight has also helped me achieve the first goal I had of getting off of high blood pressure pills. I have also incorporated healthy eating into my daily life and always enjoy when Carla emails me a new healthy recipe to try. Carla is very flexible and she has been there for me even when I have run into problems in my personal life. She has become a life coach for me and I feel like she has helped me change my path because the road I was on was towards more medications, severe obesity and who knows what else could have happened. Sometimes it’s hard and you have to push yourself but it makes it easy when you have someone there for you and just you. We have shared a lot of laughs and I have a trust in Carla that I don’t have with even some of my closer friends therefore having someone to go see that I know cares about me and my goals and concerns is truly a blessing. Anyone who is trying to change things for themselves has already made the first step by looking into it. You can’t go wrong with a trainer and I say that because I know mine saved my life.
